to the editor: All about the Maradona
August 26, 2006
Dear Editor,
I would be glad if this mail (letter) is published.
I want to use this medium to draw the attention of Nigerians to IBB
contesting for Precidency in the year 2007. General IBB is the worst
thing that ever happened to Nigeria and Nigerians it was this man that
introduced the Government of settlement into this country. He opened
Nigerians' eyes to the fact that it is good to be wealthy.
Before IBB, Nigerians were beginning to learn the behavioural attitude
of self discipline (Buhari and Idiagbon regime), by automatically
joining the queue if you go to any public place. The coming of IBB
completely killed that attitude, giving rise to the birth of gross
indiscipline in the country.
It was during the era of this gap toothed general, that 419 came into
full force in Nigeria. Take a walk down memory lane and tell me at
what time the 419 king pins became Lords, Abacha tried to fight it,
but IBB rather encouraged it by turning the other way.
It was during the era of IBB that politcians were encouraged into
politics only to be banned later. This Minna General toyed with the
political class of this country and now it beats my imagination that
anybody especially a politician would want him to aspire to presidency
under their platform. IBB should answer this question, "if the balance
had tilted in favour of his remote controlled Tofa, would the election
had been annulled in 1993?"
IBB caused the death of Abiola, Yar' Adua, Abacha and so many others,
if he had successfully handed over power to Abiola, maybe they all
would still be alive till this day, this makes him a murderer by
extension.
IBB killed tertiary education in this country, It was during his
infamous regime that Nigerian university went on strike for six months
to protest the SAP programme he implemented. Imagine a young boy
entering University (Year 1) and after 3 weeks of lectures you are
sent home for six months, exactly what happened to me. This made me
abandon school and i travelled to Italy in search of the proverbial
"Greener Pastures". IBB is the reason am not a graduate today. I know
for sure his Kids then were either in Private schools or abroad
schooling.
It is only in Nigeria that someone like IBB would want to have a GO at
the presidency, he is supposed to be fleeing for his life now knowing
that any regime would want to probe him.
I know that Baba (Olusegun Obasanjo) is not a fool, Baba is someone
that wants to be remembered for something, like the handing over of
power to Shagari, which is still remembered till today, he would want
to be remembered as that President that nevered allowed not only
corrupt politicians to succeed him but also those people that killed
those structures that would have made this country great.
IBB is a TOTAL FAILURE, he failed as president (by killing every
structure he inherited as president), he failed as a Soldier (His
superior "Danjuma" gave him orders that he circumvented), he failed as
a Husband (by creating the office of the first lady for his wife), he
failed as a father (by not training his kids that you have to work to
spend big, not just spending big because there is money), he failed as
a friend (by killing all his bossom friends; Vatsa, Abiola, Yar'Adua,
etc), he failed as a Nigerian (by plunging this country into untold
hardship) and above all he failed as a human being (by having no
feelings for us fellow humans wanting to come back and kill us again)
If IBB emerge as the presidential aspirant of any political party, i
am personally going to mobilize youths in this country to march in
their millions on the streets against him.
I REST MY CASE, LET NIGERIANS DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES.

Dear Editor,
I have the pleasure of given you this piece of mine and same vain want
to commend the efforts of your parts in the medials relationship with
the populace. Kudos to you and more greace to your elbow.
First and foremost, I want to sincerely appeal to your good office to
please honour this only oppurtunity I have in expressing my wounded
heart regards the states of this our great NATION Nigeria. Please,
help me to publish this letter.
It is so sadned to have a country like our endowed with both Natural
and Human resources so aboundant but to be so poor to a MINUS(-VE)
level of development simply as a result of Greedy, Corrupt, Inhuman
and Self centered leadership since independent till date.
To hit the nail on the head, I must boldly talk it out that somebody
call Gen. IBRAHIM BABANGIDA is a somebody that should forever keep
silent in the affair of this Nation. He should forever cover his face
in shame for his past ugly deeds.
Few of them are:
- The annullement of the only free and fair election in the history of
Nigeria (JUNE 12).
- His arrogance disregard to OPUTA panel shows his inner pride towards
the good people of the nation.
-The heneous brutality of many notable Nigerians like DELE GIWA and
MAMMAN VARTSA is yet another questions he has not be able to clear
out.
With these few out of many, I can't see him as an Elder stateman. For
his eigth years of ruling, he only succeeded in legalising corruption
at every facet of our economy.
In conclution, those asking him to come back as the president of this
country are BEAST.
Joseph Oluwole.
