Indeed no evidence of
financial wrongdoing against Olusegun Obasanjo?
Once again frisky,
I like the way your mind works. You should have been a philosopher,
as you know how to balance all sides of an issue.
I quite agree with you when you called the present administration,
as led by Yar'Adua a "Lame duck" one. For the love of mike, this man
has been there for upwards of eight months and is yet to give Nigerians
any map of the direction, economic or otherwise of where we are heading
as a nation. I mean, only a basket head would call the 10 billion Naira
invested in the power sector a waste. What happened to all the power
plants whose construction began all over the Niger-Delta area and and
beyond in the last two years of Baba's reign? Yar'Adua should be
thinking of how to build on the gains of Baba, instead of trying to
tarnish the man's image by playing to the gallery.
I don't want to comment on Uzor Kalu at all because people like him
and the other thieving ex-governors should learn how to cover their
faces with their hands in shame and keep mum until absolved of wrong
doing by competent courts.
Close to the presidency well connected and having the best stead to
accuse and provide evidence against Baba on corruption charges would
have been Atiku Abubakar, especially at the peak of his ambition to
succeed the then incumbent and against the backdrop that corruption was
being forwarded as one factor for disqualifying him (Atiku).
Since the man said nothing and is still not saying anything, i take
it that it will be one hell of a Herculean task to try and find a
single evidence against baba.
Is it not surprising that till date, nothing has been found on IBB?
Not to give you too much to read, I'll like to end on this note. It
will indeed be very interesting to find something against people like
IBB and Baba, charge them to court, convict and sentence them. If we
ever get to that state politically and in the judiciary then Nigeria
would have arrived. I pray it happens before i die.
Once again, more grease to your elbows and keep it rolling cos you
rock.

Mr Larr,
I have been an ardent follower of your writeups for Nigerian news
net services. Today's article as usual presented in lucid and well
informed manner is a compendium any day. Be that as it may, I would
like to inform you as an engeer and a previledge one, and with deu
respect to point 3 cioned from one your reader's complaint, the $10
billion spent on power in the last four years.
1. Costomized good are not picked on the shelves anywhere in the
world .
2 . The produce ordered with the money from Europe, North America
and Asia are just arriving in our ports. I'm awere of the ones at Warri
and Port Harcourt ports for Sapele and Gbarayi power stations
respectively.
3. These will take years to install, which some low lives will never
understand.
4. Presenty, the three power stations constructed and commissioned
by OBJ, Paplanto, Omotosho and Geregu with installed capacity of some
1,000MW are fed with low gas supply.
Keep educating these nigerians that uhuru is at the door, let biuld
hope with hope.

Dear Frisky,
You have a stronger arguement this time except that once more you have
attempted to insulate obasanjo from very obvious questions he ought to
answer himself. You are again so eager to extend the benefit of doubt
to him and transfer an unnecessary burden of proof to his accusers when
every thing is as clear as daylight for all to see. Sadly, you are very
frugal in extending same to those obasnjo wasted 8 years calling them
names.
Your reference to my posers is a bit inaccurate in some points. For
instance, my correct question on the transcorp shares is "200 million
shares in transcorp while national assetts are given to the same
transcorp at ridiculously low rates". There is a moral question here.
Should a crusading president even participate in a process of acquiring
public assetts while in office? Talk about conflict of interest.
I am also a bit confused at your conclusion that my points do not
amount to proof of corruption. You even suggested a convinient alibi to
Obj that there is a solution to his sudden change of financial status
in the form of bank loans. You are dragging me nearer to my former
position that you are being too kind to him while at the same time
crucifying lesser thieves even though a thief is a thief as you rightly
said.
I am not in the business of burying people's honours and so is it with
Obasnjo's achievements in office. My concern however is that he failed
woefully or better put i believe he is the worst culprit in the major
policy thrust of his administration which was the fight against
corruption. Nobody would raise an eyebrow on his questionable moral
conduct if he didnt make the propagation of the war on corruption an
article of faith. He is being judged according to his professed
standards.
I hate to say this but looks like Ex gov Kalu and your self have issues
outstanding because you seem to come down so heavily on him while he
faces allegations of corruption, the same kind on a larger scale
obasanjo is facing. What is good for the goose......
