From Saint Peter to Benedict XVI

Earlier we had written about Gelasius I, who we
called then the first and only African Pope. However, that story was
as good as the story of the ancient world. What was African in the
ancient time extended to all the areas now called the Middle East. The
current Middle East is a later day political invention. And so the
list of African Popes are three!
All in all, there had been three African Popes, from Pope Victor I,
the fourteenth Pope after Saint Peter (189-199). He proclaimed that
Easter Day be celebrated on Sunday Pope St. Miltiades (311-314) was
the second African Pope and the 37th Pope. He was the first Pope to
have an official residence. On April 3, 2005, we wrote about
Pope St Gelasius I The African Popes were so good, they were all
made saints.
We have prepared a papal list that shows the triumph and the failure
of the Church of God from St. Peter to Benedict XVI Starting from St.
Peter, some Christians believe Peter was never in Rome, and even claim
that the Rock is been made more important than the Temple! As we
understand it, the Temple referred to is the body of Christ which is
the church. The foundation, also as we understand it proclaimed by
Christ Jesus is the Rock anchored on St. Peter.
Therefore, if the Peter who, history said was crucified upside down by
Nero in AD 62 is not the same Peter, where was the real Peter? If
there was another Peter other than the one we all know, how then can
we call ourselves Christian and still believe the "Temple" was built
on a solid Rock? We know that the Rock we cannot account for, is an
invisible rock without any known church or body of Christ.
The Peter we know has an unbroken line of successor as our table
shows, up to the Pope being installed today. Anywhere we turn we see
the attempt by humans to want to be the last word and not God
Himself. The road to the installation of Pope Benedict XVI today has
not been without bumps and pit holes. As in all the travails of human
beings, God seems to rectify and smoothen these bumps and pit holes
each step of the way.
The need for an heir to the throne of England created the Anglican
church. Before then, there was the Montanist, the split of the church
to the West and the Eastern Churches, the heretics and the Anti Popes.
A Pope who fathered an illegitimate son who later became a Pope
himself through adulterous relationship with a powerful woman called
Marozie.
Formosus (891-896) was declared a heretic Pope and his body was
thrown into the Tiber River. John X was strangled by the order of
Marozie, the adulterous concubine of Pope Sergius who as we said
earlier had her illegitimate son declared Pope John XI.
In the
table prepared by us for this occasion, you will see what is
referred to as Anti Popes. These were Popes who declared themselves
Popes illegitimately during the reign of legitimate Popes.. There seem
to be lots of Anti Popes during the pontificate of certain Popes who
chose the name Benedict.
Through it all, and looking at the succession line, the will of God
seems to always prevail. And so, we felicitate today with Pope
Benedict XVI who seems ready to hold the line against all attempts to
pervert the Bible by people of New Age thoughts. Though our dear
Francis Cardinal Arinze was not made the Pope, we have reasons to be
happy with this new Pope.
When the church is ready and the Holy Sprit is allowed to direct the
affair of the church, the conclave of Cardinals will look at those
three Africans who had been Popes earlier, and see the serenity of
these African Popes. When they look back on these Popes, the Conclave
will see that they have nothing to fear in having an African Pope, for
in the spirit world, there is no color. We also know that God is
spirit and those who seek Him must do so in SPIRIT and in TRUTH.
Meanwhile, we believe here at the NigerianNews
that the choice of Pope Benedict XVI was a good one. The church and
the Holy Spirit are not built around those feel-good, New Age people
devoid of the true import and understanding, and unchanging nature of
the Holy Bible. The new Pope should not shy away from showing those
who want to pervert God's goodness and mercy the door, so that they
can move closer to their luciferous family. These people tend to flash
their monetary contribution to the Church. Just as Bar-Jesus in the
New Testament could not buy Christ Jesus's power, we say, their
contribution cannot buy the spirit of God. God, the Almighty Father
loves all sinners but hate all sins no matter where the sin is coming
from. CONGRATULATIONS POPE BENEDICT XVI!!
